Location: Surrey, BC
Job Type: Part-Time (On-Site)
Compensation: $18.00 – $19.50/hour (based on experience) + 4% vacation pay, staff meals provided
About Desi Rasoi
Desi Rasoi is a fast-growing vegetarian Indian street food brand known for high-quality flavors, fast service, and a positive, team-centered culture. We operate using structured systems and strong standards to maintain consistency and great guest experiences. We are looking for a Shift Lead who leads by example, supports the team, and maintains smooth operations during active service.
Role Overview
As a Shift Lead, you play a key role in daily store operations. You support your team on the floor, guide service during peak periods, and ensure that the restaurant remains clean, efficient, and welcoming. This is an active leadership role — you lead from the front, not from the office.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily shift operations to ensure speed, quality, and cleanliness.
- Maintain deployment and station assignments during busy times.
- Ensure proper opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are followed.
Team Support & Training
- Support new and current staff with on-shift coaching and guidance.
- Maintain a clear, positive, and respectful team environment.
Guest Experience
- Provide friendly, professional service to all guests.
- Address and resolve guest concerns calmly and confidently.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards are always met.
- Monitor product handling, station cleanliness, and preparation accuracy.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to lead a team and set the tone on shift.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, problem-solving mindset.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent in work ethic and standards.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Experience with Indian cuisine is an asset, but not required.
Compensation
- $18.00 – $19.50 per hour (based on experience)
